What we treat here
Pain is the first thing to leave. Strength is the last to train and recover.
Most people stop somewhere in between and call it recovered. That is the gap this clinic works in: injuries and operations where the pain has settled and the wrist, shoulder, neck or knee still will not do what it used to.
Tanjong Pagar is built for people working in the CBD, Anson, Shenton Way and the surrounding offices, and it is where most of our wrist fracture and hand therapy work is done.
Hand therapy
The finger, hand, wrist, forearm and elbow. Wrist and finger fractures, TFCC and ligament injuries, and the stiffness that follows hand surgery. Custom thermoplastic splints are molded here in the appointment.
Physiotherapy
Necks, backs and shoulders, including the ones that build through a working week, and recovery after knee and hip replacement.
TCM acupuncture and herbal medicine are also available at Tanjong Pagar as supporting treatments alongside physiotherapy and hand therapy.
How recovery is run
4-Stage Structured Recovery
Every plan at Phoenix runs on the Phoenix Recovery Protocol: four stages, with measurable criteria to move between them. You get a stage diagnosis at your first appointment, in writing.
Calm & Protect
Settling an angry joint is work, not rest. Protect the injury, and load only what the tissue can take.
Move & Mobilize
Range is trained back, not waited for. Measured in degrees at each review.
Rebuild & Strengthen
Strength, stability and stamina, loaded progressively and measured against your other side.
Return & Perform
Typing, gripping, lifting, work, sport. Tested, not assumed.
None of the four stages is passive. Every one is trained, and every one has criteria you have to meet before you leave it. How the Protocol works →
Who you will see at Tanjong Pagar
One therapist, one room, 45 minutes
You stay with the same therapist, because measuring range and grip over time only means something if the same person is taking the measurements.

What it costs

Assessment & Treatment
One standard 45-minute physiotherapy or hand therapy appointment, nett, no GST. Most of it is treatment. We work out what is actually driving the problem, and then we treat it, in the same appointment. You do not pay for a consultation and come back another day to be treated.
- Hands-on treatment from the first appointment: manual therapy, joint mobilization, soft tissue work, and a splint molded here if you need one
- Range, strength and function measured against your other side
- A stage diagnosis against the four stages
- A written plan and a home program you walk out holding
- Your next review dated into the diary with the same therapist
Your therapist then dates each stage review into the diary, so you know what the program involves before you commit to anything. No packages and no discounts for booking a course.

Questions we get asked
How do I find the unit?
Take the side escalator near the 7-Eleven up to level 2, turn right and walk about 100 meters. From the MRT, Exit C brings you into the building at basement level so you do not have to go outside.
Do I get treated at the first appointment, or only assessed?
Treated. Most of the 45 minutes is treatment. We work out what is driving the problem and start on it in the same appointment, which usually means hands-on manual therapy, joint mobilization and soft tissue work. The assessment keeps running while we treat, because how the tissue responds tells us as much as any single test.
Can I come during a lunch break?
An appointment is 45 minutes, so with the walk from most CBD offices it is tight but workable. Tell us where you are coming from when you message and we will find a slot that fits.
Do I need a doctor’s referral?
No. You can book directly. Bring any scans or reports you have. Some insurers ask for a referral before they reimburse, so check your policy.
Where do I park?
The carpark entrance is on Anson Road, on your left just past the Sime Darby Building and directly opposite Twenty Anson. Coming off the AYE, leave at Exit 2 for Keppel Road, then turn left onto Anson Road and keep right.
I have broken my wrist. Is this the right clinic?
Yes. Mavis is based here, and wrist fractures are the largest part of her caseload. Bring your operation note or X-ray report if you have one.
What are your other clinics?
Orchard, Tampines and Serangoon, with Jurong East opening 25 October 2026. If another clinic is closer to you, say so when you message and we will book you there instead.
Tell us what it will not do
Which part, how long it has been there, and what you have stopped doing because of it. That last part usually tells us the most. We will tell you which therapist at Tanjong Pagar treats it most often.
Physiotherapists and hand therapists assess, treat, splint, exercise, educate and refer; doctors diagnose, inject, prescribe and order imaging. If we find something that needs medical review we refer you back to your doctor.
