  • Diploma in Occupational Therapy, Nanyang Polytechnic (Singapore)

Nadzirah graduated with a Bachelors (Hons) in Occupational Therapy in Singapore Institute Technology (SIT)- Trinity College Dublin (TCD). She had the opportunity to assess and learn the occupational therapy practices (acute, community and primary care) in various settings in Dublin, Ireland.

She embarked her career as an occupational therapist in acute care rehabilitation, which was where she harnessed her interest in the subspecialty that is hand and upper extremities rehabilitation (orthopaedic, musculoskeletal, trauma etc). She has amassed experience assessing and treating patients with a large variety of diagnosis, age and ethnic profiles.

She has demonstrated a strong commitment to teach and empower not only her patients but also to budding medical practitioners. She was given the opportunity to conduct a teaching session on specific upper limb conditions and management, for medical students from Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine).

She was honored to be given the privilege to collaborate with the renowned Clinical Associate Professor Teoh Lam Chuan from Tan Tock Seng Hospital to establish an upper limb rehabilitation protocol specific to Hand Replantation. During her free time, she enjoys baking, engaging in outdoor activities, playing sports, cycling and trekking. She enjoys spending quality time with her family, parents, friends and cherishing her role as a mother.

Referred by her clients as meticulous and friendly, she has been sought after by clients (especially within the Mummy’s community for common injuries like Mummy’s Thumb aka De Quervain Tenosynovitis) and hand surgeons in the relevant field. Cheerful and optimistic, Nurul hopes to empower her clients to achieve their maximal potential in their roles at work as well as their daily activities as she believes that our hands are our utmost important tool to create opportunities in life.

HAND THERAPY
One of the few clinics in Singapore with specialist hand therapists on staff.

  • Hand therapy is a specialist discipline that most physiotherapy clinics simply do not have and cannot provide.
  • Hand therapists and hand occupational therapists covers injuries and post-surgical recovery of the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder girdle — requiring a different level of clinical training.
  • We also do customized thermoplastic splinting for the fingers, hand, wrist, forearm, elbow and even shoulders and knees too
  • For post-operative hand and wrist recovery, this isn’t optional – it can be significant movement, power, stability and stamina outcomes for someone who did hand therapy versus someone who didnt.

ALREADY SEEING A PHYSIO OR CHIRO?
If your current treatment isn't moving you forward — find out why.

  • Many of our patients come to Phoenix Rehab as a second opinion — after months at another clinic with limited progress.
  • We’ll dive and assess in depth to find out the true cause of the injuries and conditions (clarity and knowledge is half the battle!), work and communicate with your existing doctor, and tell you plainly what we think and know…and treat you of course, the best we can.
  • Many patients are discharged around 70 to 80% recovery. We aim to help you recover as fully as your body allows, the same way we would want for our own family.
  • If you’ve been told to “just manage it” or “learn to live with it” — come in. You may have more options than you’ve been told.
