Fawzi started his journey into rehab as a fitness instructor before fitness was fashionable. An opportunity to train a patient with guidance from a physiotherapist opened his eyes to the value of exercise.

Following a 4-year stint with Singapore Airlines as a Cabin Crew, Fawzi became a Sports Trainer in a private sports clinic and later with Geylang United Football Club (before it changed to Geylang International) providing massage and rehab for patients and athletes.

Moving on, he became the 1st sports trainer in a hospital (CGH) in 2003 but still continued his duties with Geylang United FC. His passion for rehab and sports saw him join the Football Association of Singapore in 2009 where he stayed on until 2016.

After that, Fawzi became a member of Team Singapore Medical when he joined the Singapore Sports Institute. Through his work at FAS and SSI, Fawzi was involved with many sports tournaments and major games providing massage and managing injuries to athletes

  • Asian Football Confederation tournaments and qualifiers around Asia (2009-2014)
  • Youth Asian Games (Nanjing China 2014)
  • SEA Games (2009, 2011, 2015,2017,2019)
  • Asean Para Games (2015, 2017)
  • Asian Para Games (2014 Incheon, South Korea)
  • Asian Games (2018 Jakarta, Indonesia)
  • Asean University Games (2022 Udon Rachatani, Thailand)

He continues to work with athletes and non-athletes as he sees exercise as an integral part of recovering from ailment.

Being passionate about physical activity and exercise, he will make time for his own exercises. He has a saying..”It’s a sin for a trainer not to train”. Exercise regime constitutes cycling, swimming and strength training, be it weights or calisthenics.

His knowledge in various massage techniques, strength conditioning and injury management makes him one of a few trainers to be able to manage an athlete from an acute injury all the way to returning to field of play.
